About This Spot

Stepping into Blackfish BYOB, you’re welcomed by an intimate, thoughtfully curated space where quiet anticipation lingers in the air. This is the kind of American seafood restaurant that feels like a well-kept secret—an escape from the rush, where time slows just enough to savor both company and cuisine.

The atmosphere leans into a relaxed sophistication, with modest yet warm surroundings that invite lingering conversations and unhurried enjoyment. With its subtle lighting and cozy seating, it’s clear that this is a spot designed for those who appreciate the rituals of a shared meal, paired with their own choice of wine brought along to complement the flavors on the plate.

Here, the menu reads like a meeting point between land and sea, showcasing the nuanced craft behind each dish. Fresh, vibrant seafood takes center stage—whether it’s a delicately prepared crudo or the richness of lobster ravioli—while the careful touches in both seasoning and portion afford a satisfying but unpretentious experience. Each course seems composed to invite discovery, where familiar elements such as smoked salmon or expertly braised short ribs quietly reveal layers of depth and care.

The pace of service matches the mood, attentive without rush, allowing the flavors to speak steadily and clearly between courses. The attention to detail resonates beyond food: house-made bread accompanies the meal like a quiet, generous companion, underscoring a respect for the full dining journey.

Blackfish BYOB feels like a neighborhood gem that balances refinement with genuine warmth—a space for those who seek thoughtful eating that lingers beyond the plate. It’s a place to return to, where the pleasure lies not just in the quality or innovation, but in the subtle human moments shared around the table.

We had a wonderful dinner. We had an early reservation which turned out to be good for us as it was quiet and we had our choice of seating. Our dinners were great...dorado for me and sword fish for my husband. We also had the lobster ravioli and the risotto as our 1st courses and split a beet salad. We ended with the delicious chocolate cake. Service was very good with multiple servers attending the table. We would definitely return.

We had the seven course meal and it was decent. One of the dishes was too salty but the rest very good. I really enjoyed the dessert. The total time it took to serve all the dishes was 3 hours, I’m not sure if that is on purpose or if there was a an issue in the kitchen. The staff all seem to be from different countries so you have to focus on what they are saying, one guy mumbled edible but we he was trying to say was the garnish is not edible. However our main server (the tall black female) was excellent! She was super nice and clear, she explained everything to me without judgement. The restaurant is a little tight and can get very loud. This was my first time here and I came for my wedding anniversary so I would like to return to try the regular dishes.

You won’t regret it for a second spending money on a meal here. There’s so much care put into each dish with extremely nuanced flavors, and very very fresh seafood. The amount of scallops and dorade given for the price is unusual for fine dining. Highly recommend the escargot as well. Definitely would recommend a bit of a facelift though for the inside to match the prestige of the food.

It is always consistently great. The food is fabulous, very flavorful and done to the right temperature (if you're ordering a meat dish). The sides complement the main dish, and the portions won't leave you looking for a noodle shop afterwards. Also one of the rare places that serve complimentary bread (and the bread is equally wonderful, the quality of which other places would charge you an appetizer type price for). We always look forward to a stop here when we are in the neighborhood. (I've read reviews that it is busy and the seating is tight, but since we spend most of our time in NYC, our perspective is different...We feel it is cozy).

Have not been here in years. Finally made it back. Had a wonderful time!!! Food was fantastic, service was superb, and despite it being a small restaurant the ambiance was very good! This is a BYO which is always nice. Parking was a little rough. My favorites were the meyer lemon oyster, the foie gras terrine with sour cherry and fig, and the crab raviolis. Highly recommend this restaurant. I can remember when Philadelphia Magazine called it one of the best restaurants in Philly, even though it is in Conshohocken!!

Fantastic experience! I'd have to recommend the oysters and duck was also phenomenal. The food was prepared with thought and was presented beautifully. Jackson, our server, was attentive and informative with a really lovely energy! I will be back!

A little crowded, went for Valentines day and did that menu for 125 a head. That said, BYOB was a great way to keep the price down. Those things out of the way, the wait staff was stellar, the apps were great, but it was a lot of food. I thought it was a good experience albeit crowded.
